What is Konkeh?

The name Kónkeh (pronounced KON-kay) is rooted in the Tehuelche word for “sweet”. Just as our name looks to the stars of the Southern Hemisphere for inspiration, our kitchen looks to the traditions of the South to bring you an authentic experience.

We specialize in the Alfajor (al-fa-HOR)—the crown jewel of Argentine pastries. Unlike anything you’ll find in a grocery aisle, our alfajores are:

Whether you are a lifelong fan of dulce de leche or a curious newcomer ready for your first taste, we invite you to pull up a chair and join the Kónkeh family!

Who is Paola Mentis?

From a Grandmother’s Kitchen to the City of Wichita

The Heart Behind the Rolling Pin
For Paola, baking has always been a language of love. What began as a childhood bond, learning traditional recipes at her grandmother’s side, eventually became her passion. In 2021, following the uncertainty of a job loss, Paola found herself homesick for the flavors of Argentina.

With a mortgage to pay, kids to raise, and a rolling pin in hand, she set out to create something nobody else was making. What started as a small booth at the Old Town Farmers Market has grown into a passionate mission to share her culture. Her passion for sharing Argentine flavors even took her beyond Wichita — Paola competed on Season 17 of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, repping Argentina’s Empanadas on the national stage and bringing home a 3rd place finish.

Even while balancing multiple jobs, Paola’s heart remains in the kitchen, where she transforms simple ingredients into “edible joy”.

Paola gets the most excited when someone tries an alfajor for the very first time.
